The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg Russia – A Cruise Ship Shore Excursion

One of our shore excursions on our Baltic cruise aboard the HAL Oosterdam was the Hermitage Museum. Wow. So that’s how the rich people used to live!

If you ever have the chance to visit the Hermitage museum then you must go see it. The next time you happen to be in St. Petersburg…

Anything I might have to say would pale in comparison to the photos, and since photos are worth a thousand words, here are some photos of a tiny bit of the things to see.

Well, the Hermitage is ornate and large viewed from the outside...

Just inside the doors this is what you find.

The Jordan Staircase

This is a golden Peacock that is a functioning clock which they run on Wednesdays at 5PM.
Paintings on the ceilings

I'm just sayin...

Beautiful Statues were in no short supply...

Leonardo Da Vinci's The Benois Madonna from 1478

Yep. For a couple of bucks Kathy got to hold the lease of a russian brown bear for this photo...

And that concludes our tour of the Hermitage Museum In St. Petersburg Russia.
